They had a single valve radio that someone from Jersey had made whilst a
prisoner.

At the start of The Repair Shop programme today then the working radio
about 30 minutes into the programme.

Does anyone remember the 1 valve HAC (hear all continents) radio kit? They
used to advertise in all the electronic magazines. It wa very simple ingle
coil TRF receiver with reaction control. It worked but was rather crude.

Almost certainly a super-regen set. I remember one such with one FET,
that used plug-in coils; the one I built I got through three or four
FETs before I managed to build it without damaging the FET - it was in
the early days of FETs, when they died as soon as you touched them.
